This is the last chapter of the book….

In the last post, i had mentioned it had its ups and downs, and in this chapter it had its up.  In the first few pages, it talks about how a silk worm moth  grows into a butterfly.  It had a diagram of a picture..different types and size of a butterflies.  When i google butterlies, there was LOTS of pictures of butterflies, group or individuals.  And i like this one:

It had facts about butterflies, and this whole book was about history, and now its talking about facts.

Some facts were:

  • Male dies soon after mating
  • Female lays three to five hundred eggs over the course of several days, and then dies.

He then mentions how summer end, and the leaves are lathery, which simply expired.

Overall, this book was okay.  He talked about all different culture, talked about religion, and other interesting facts.  This was not a book i Would have choose to read, but it was interesting.  Even though i read a chapter a week, i was not lost in the book.  each chapter was a different topic i felt.

What this book is good for COM313 is that the layout of this book.  Which we will be doing in class this week.  It had no new paragraphs, just one looooong paragraph.  Even the pictures was the same layout as the content – which was different for me because i am used to new paragraphs and pictures not being filled up on two pages, just a quarter of it.

Last week, talking to the professor about the book, he mentioned “is this book all true or is some of it fiction?” and it got me thinking, is it true or not??  I know some parts are real, well the people, because when i googled them, they show up.  so i know the people he talks about is somewhat true.

almost all my chapter recap blogs had pictures, so i am going to try not have pictures in this blog.

When reading this chapter, Thomas Abrams seems to be a nice guys for numerous reasons:

  1. Always have visitors come over to his house
  • historians from Oxford and Jehovah Witness From Manchester
  • archaeological experts from Holy Land
  • ultra orthodox jews from London
  • representatives of evangelist sects from California

When reading on, there was a two page picture which was pretty cool, and different.  In the outside the book to inside the book it was different, blurry to visible.  That is a great shot of photography.

One page 257, it was nice to end the day with a music lesson – or end the day with silence.

This book has its ups and downs, some happy moments and some sad moments.  This sad moment was that the guy a guy wanted to marry Charlotte, but the father mad him a deal, either marry her or become part of the family, and she would be her sister.  And the said part was that he choose to be part of the family and be part of the heir of the family.

Another sad part was the author mentions is that in autumn of 1987, there was a hurricane that no one had experience before on that land.  Having heard so many hurricane happening in the past year, i felt sorry that it happened.  Hurricane Irine was not that bad, so I guess we were lucky in New York.

In COM 313 – the professor wanted us to write a weekly post, and i realize that most of it is all GIANTS post..LOL

Like i said in my previous post, the giants was playing against the Patriots, and We Won.  According to CBS SPORT

Super Bowl or midseason game, Eli Manning and the New York Giants are masters of the last-minute comeback against the New England Patriots.

Manning capped a decisive drive eerily similar to the one in the 2008 Super Bowl, throwing a 1-yard touchdown pass to Jake Ballard with 15 seconds left and giving the Giants a 24-20 win on Sunday.

“I knew we would win,” Giants running back Brandon Jacobs said. “It definitely took me back to the Super Bowl.”

In that 17-14 victory, Manning threw a 13-yard scoring pass to Plaxico Burress with 35 seconds to go. Four plays earlier, David Tyree trapped Manning’s third-down pass over the middle on top of his helmet for a 32-yard gain.

On Sunday, the teams met in a meaningful game for the first time since then. And Manning threw another completion over the middle to an unheralded receiver on third down, connecting with a leaping Ballard for a 28-yard gain. Five plays later, they hooked up for the winning pass.

“If it was thrown anywhere else, I wouldn’t have caught it,” Ballard said. “You dream about making catches like that.”

And Ballard’s number? The same as Tyree’s, 85.

I’ve been slacking with reading this book due to school work, midterm, and other projects. But this is my recap of chapter 7

This chapter was not that interesting, so this post is going to be a tad short compared to the others.

Overall, after i read this chapter, I wanted to meet Michael.  The author was describing him a great deal, especially at such at a young age.

When I read the first few pages of this chapter, it reminisced back to my childhood…how he talked

about pets (2 birds – which I had, and fishes).  One memory i had about my pets is when my puppies try to catch the birds whenever they fly around the house.  It doesnt help when they are both hound dogs, so their instinct is to sniff and found the birds.  Another childhood memory is a particular game he mentioned, labyrinth, which i played many times. In the game board like the picture, or on pen and paper.  The game board was harder than pen and paper.

During chinese I was looking through apps and I was wondering if there was a wordpress app and there is. So I dowbkoaded it and.I’m using it now while I type this post

And I take a picture with my cell and upload it onto wp but it takes awhile to load

Now when I need to write a  post I can just use this app! So if my spelling is wrong..its because of my cell

The reason why i did yellow was because i was working on my internship wordpress, well trying to get it working again on my host site. and my background was yellowish.

When i saw this canary, i thought of two things…i had parakets when i was growing up…and the head tilting reminds me of my dogs at home.  When anybody say something, their hear turns – just like this bird.

Im in the computer lab in the library trying to get homework done, which is so far working…but there is a lot of distratctions going on…that i can not concentrate…i have headphones, but one side of the headphones is not working..and that is why i do not buy expensive headphones, because they break easily. I got to say though, $1 headphones is well worth the money because they do last longer and if they break, it was only a dollar and not thirty dollars…

Midterms started last week…and i already took two out of four…i have one more tomorrow for chinese…but will there be any for COM313???

read this book when we had no class…and now i am writing in wordpress.

When i was reading the chapter..i noticed the back, and i read what this book was about. And now i know why this book have so many pictures – because it is a record of walking tour of eastern coast of England.  And recap of one of the review of the book said “a brilliantly allusive study of england imperial past and the nature of decline and fall, of loss and decoy”

This chapter was interesting because it was talking about china…however, when it was talking about China history, there was four deaths.  It was true about how the line of the empire, who would be in control if the the hierarchy person dies, who would be next in line.  (hsien-feng – mentioned on 147)
After the china history, there was a picture of a beach…which reminded me of a picture i took in New Jersey.  When i saw that picture, i just wanted to go back to that place…and just relax.  This is the picture i took of the beach and the water (155)

In this chapter, the author talks about Roger Casement.  So I wanted to google his picture and the author picture to see what they both look like.  And he looks like a decent man..and the author of this book, I would not have thought he had white hair and mustache.

When reading this book on page 116, I liked this sentence “for better or worse, one had to play one’s part”.  Another quote from the book was on page 105, “in the winter everything is dead during the green winter everything is dying.  These two quote came out to me because its somewhat inspiring.

While reading this book…it had mentioned different types of nationality: Ireland, british, france, and german.  For that reason I would be donloading every flag that the human had meatch.

I choose this flags out of all of the countries mention because it is october, and it is octoberfest.   (And plus, i like these colors than the others)

When reading this book, it feels like a history book back in the 1800/1900’s.  But this book gets interested at the end of the chapter, usually the beginning is kind of boring…its getting a little interesting when reading this book…but its still a bit boring.
